Mountain Statistics and Ticket Information

SKI AREA

The area is comprised of four separate ski resorts, all interconnected on the same ticket.

There is extensive grooming on the runs and huge powder bowls. The tree skiing is generally through Silver Birch groves and is more open than the pine forests of North America.

The lifts are not crowded at all.  The Japanese skiers tend to ski in the centre of the groomed runs, leaving untracked powder to the edges and in the trees beside the runs.  The local skiers are very polite, safety conscious and much more skier aware than at home.

There is no jet lag when traveling to Niseko, being in almost the same time zone.

More importantly, there is no altitude sickness.

The powder snow comes in from the Siberian wastelands and it is normal to see two meter off the beaches with the waves rolling into the snow.

Base of mountain is only 300mtr above sea level, and the peak is round 1300mtr which gives fantastic vertical but no shortness of breath.  The powder snow however is the dryest on earth and the temperature is around minus 12C at the top and minus 4C at the base.   It is important to bring warm gear and neck warmer or face mask for the really cold weather.

If you are using electronic boot warmers, remember the voltage in Japan is 100V.

There are ski schools for kids down to 3 years of age which cater to al standards of skiers and boarders.
